What a nice change

Went to a new church for a Sunday service recently. The church was Hosanna, in St. Charles IL. What a pleasant change from what I am use to at my home church. No pressures, people all over greeting you. The pastor gave us a tour of the building and then asked a couple to continue on with us as he went to do service. What a very nice couple too. They spent about 20 mins with us and invited us to come back to the Wednesday Advent service and dinner. My wife sent an email to thank them and got a prompt response. Wow, I have not seen this in some time. I am use to this type of reactions at the church where I am Deacon at, but not my home church in some time.

I have decided that it is time to leave where I am at. I have some very mixed feelings, but I need to . They are a great church and have so much to offer. I am sure they will keep on, and will continue to grow. However, I have to drive 35 mins to get there. That is just to far for us as a family to remain connected. It is a time for a change, and the first of the year is coming and the timing could not be better.

We as a family will be visiting other churches as well over the next couple of months to decide where we want to put in our membership.

Well, that is all for now, but more to come.
I didn’t have any major insights, not that I ever do, but maybe one day.
