Inclusion

Okay, can you believe it. Two posts in one month. Really really hard to believe. I had something happen today and really felt compelled to share. I am out at Leadership lab this week. For you that do not know what this is, it is a Christian based lab to help teens learn how to be leaders. http://www.leadershiplab.net

My son just got back from his mission trip, which I am happy to report was a huge success, from what I was told. I was going to leave lab at 4:30 AM to run back home, pick him and a friend up and bring them back to lab. I was not looking forward to this at all. I did not want to get up early, let along drive 3 hrs one way and turn right around and drive back. As I was signing up as a leader, I noticed someone with a Subway sandwich. Being hungry, and not wanting a burger, yet again, I asked her how to get to the Subway. She was very nice and told me. We started to talk, and my pending trip came up. Turns out, here I am in Rock Island, and I was now talking with someone that lives very very close to me. She also said her Church were going to be bringing kids tomorrow and she was sure they had room and could take my son and his friend with. WOW!!!!!! She called and confirmed and now I did not need to leave to pick him up.

God put that Subway in front of me to speak with her. It was his way of getting in included on some of the important morning activities that I was going to miss. The Pastor who invited me out to be a leader here, has really been trying to let everyone know that they need to make sure they step up and include the new people (me being one of them) in on all the activities. We were all at a reception party, and I was feeling a little left out. Then I noticed a young lady, standing all by her self. So I introduced myself and as I thought she had never been to lab before either. Not only was this her first time, but she was here as part of a Church exchange program, and she was her from Slovakia. We talked for some time. Now we both felt included. God always works, just not always in ways that we see sometimes, the first time.

God is so Awesome!!
