B<\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\"><i>New Testament<\/i> 2 Corinthians 4:3\u20136<\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\"><i>Gospel<\/i> Mark 9:2\u20139<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" tells us that the gospel can be veiled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Most specifically, to those who are perishing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Who are the ones that are perishing?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Who and\/or what veils the gospel?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The ones that are perishing, are the ones that are not living in response to the kingdom of God.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The ones who are unwilling or unable to live in, see, or respond to the gospel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Our lives can get so busy that at times the gospel is nothing but&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>static.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">What is getting in the way of the gospel?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">What stuff gets in your way?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">God keeps asking if you can hear the gospel.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>God keeps reaching out but are we listening or have we put other stuff in the way?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">What stuff might be in the way of people you know?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">How about what prevents you from responding to the gospel?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The perishing are the ones that need the gospel the most.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I was perishing.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I did not even know I was perishing, which caused me to veil the gospel.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I had heard but choose to ignore.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>When I got married, I understood more as I went to church more but even then, I was unwilling to respond to the good news, the gospel of Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Jesus takes the gospel to the perishing,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>to be disciples and help take the message to others.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Jesus leads the way for us all the time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Jesus keeps asking us if we can hear the Gospel.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Sometimes we do and then others times&#8230;.?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>He cares and keeps telling and keeps asking if we hear it.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Sometimes it seems veiled.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Just maybe, it seems like this the video below.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"p1\">What veils and even unveils the gospel for you?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Is it someone you know?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The church you worship at?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Hymns you hear?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The contemporary music you hear?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The order of worship?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Praying the Lord&#8217;s prayer or singing the Lord&#8217;s prayer?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Finances?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Job vs vocation?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In Mark&#8217;s gospel, when Jesus is baptized, the Holy Spirit descends upon Jesus.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Only He sees this.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Then God speaks and says, you are my Son, the Beloved, with you I am well pleased.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Then high upon a mountain, with Peter, James and John, Jesus is transfigured in front of them.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>They see this happen and we know that they were terrified by what they saw.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Then a cloud overshadows them and they hear, This is my son, the beloved, listen to him!<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The veil has been removed, they truly see and hear the gospel.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>They listen to Jesus and keep this to themselves for now but the story is told so the gospel can be revealed, so the veil can be removed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">We are called to proclaim the gospel.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Maybe it will see like that commercial as well to us.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>However, something does happen.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>When we proclaim the gospel, it is revealed in us and revealed to another.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">We will be entering Lent on Wednesday.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>For the next 40 days, we will enter a time of reflection on the gospel.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>A time of contemplation through scripture and prayers.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>On Wednesdays, we will be holding prayers around the cross services steeped in reflection on the gospels.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Jesus will be asking:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Can you hear the Gospel?<span
