{"id":42,"date":"2011-01-07T18:17:00","date_gmt":"2011-01-08T00:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.messy-spirituality.com\/wordpress\/2011\/01\/07\/justification-and-justice-my-understanding\/"},"modified":"2011-01-07T18:17:00","modified_gmt":"2011-01-08T00:17:00","slug":"justification-and-justice-my-understanding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.messy-spirituality.com\/wordpress\/2011\/01\/07\/justification-and-justice-my-understanding\/","title":{"rendered":"Justification and Justice, my understanding"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_FfyN1hJQqRU\/TSeezvFo2SI\/AAAAAAAAAHA\/cW0nNnv-Htw\/s1600\/CROSS%2BON%2BMUSKE%2BLURE-SOFT-ENHANCED%2BCROSS.JPG\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"320\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_FfyN1hJQqRU\/TSeezvFo2SI\/AAAAAAAAAHA\/cW0nNnv-Htw\/s320\/CROSS%2BON%2BMUSKE%2BLURE-SOFT-ENHANCED%2BCROSS.JPG?resize=240%2C320\" width=\"240\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: 200%; tab-stops: .25in;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;,&quot;serif&quot;; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 200%;\">Justification from a Christian perspective is the act of becoming right, or being made righteous by God.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Jesus Christ accomplished this when he died upon the cross.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>However, Justification is not simply an act that has been done, but is an ongoing process in which the Holy Spirit along with the Father and the Son continues to justify humanity<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: 200%; tab-stops: .25in;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;,&quot;serif&quot;; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 200%;\"><span style=\"mso-tab-count: 1;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span>We need to always look for justification, and receive it through the cross of Christ.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Even the acceptance of the justification is not an act we can do on our own.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>This act of acceptance is done through faith, and faith in itself, is a gift of God.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>It is important to realize that justification is not warranted for humankind but comes from the agape love of God, through Christ to us from the faith God has given to us.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: 200%; tab-stops: .25in;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;,&quot;serif&quot;; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 200%;\"><span style=\"mso-tab-count: 1;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span>Justice, true justice, comes from within justification.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>We are called to be just to all humankind. We must act upon this.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Not only justice to those who are like us, or those that we love, or they love us but for everyone.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>In fact, the fight for justice is at it\u2019s best when we advocate for those that we struggle in: understanding, loving, and liking.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>The act of being just however, is not because of a required response or a needed response, but a natural reaction upon acceptance of the justification that we undeservedly receive from our Triune God.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: 200%; tab-stops: .25in;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;,&quot;serif&quot;; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 200%;\"><span style=\"mso-tab-count: 1;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span>When we see the poor, it is more than providing assistance to the poor.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Justice is more than righting wrongs that we see.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Justice forms a community where there is no, \u201cUs\u201d and \u201cThem\u201d, no more \u201cYou and \u201cMe\u201d.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>It is a community of \u201cWe\u201d, where all of the \u201cWe\u201d accept each other as their neighbor, and love their neighbor as themselves.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>In doing so, justice is served to keep a balance in how humankind relates, works, treats and loves each other and God.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>As related to me by my pastor, who gives credit to a seminary professor of his, as soon as a person makes the separation between \u201cus and them\u201d or \u201cyou and me\u201d, God stands not with us, but with the others we distanced ourselves from. Justice is no longer served and justification is once again, in need.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Justification from a Christian perspective is the act
