I have started a new practice of reading a Psalm every morning. \u00a0I choose from different versions of Bibles. \u00a0Sometimes the NRSV, \u00a0The Message and I choose others as well. \u00a0I am very fortunate to have Logos Bible Software<\/a> and have so many Bibles available to me.<\/p>\n

Today I was looking at Psalm 4 from The Messag<\/em>e<\/em><\/strong>. \u00a0It started me thinking about being satisfied. \u00a0In the Psalm, the psalmist speaks of having more from God in a single day, than others get from \u00a0all of their shopping sprees. \u00a0What is satisfying enough to us? \u00a0I come from a generation of people who need the latest in everything. \u00a0I too have a hard time not slipping back to that attitude of greed vs. having an attitude of gratitude in what I am gifted from God.<\/p>\n

All that we are, all that we need, all that we should desire is provided by God. \u00a0Yet it is so easy in this world, surrounded by attitudes and advertising of, get what you deserve (you need more), to being grateful for what we are given. \u00a0Focus upon God, keep Christ at the center and realize that what we have is more precious than all the kingdoms in the world, all the gold in the world, all of ANYTHING in the world. \u00a0We have forgiveness in Christ and everlasting life with the Father, Son and Spirit!<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>The Message Bible<\/em><\/p>\n

When I call, give me answers. God, take my side!<\/p>\n

Once, in a tight place, you gave me room;<\/p>\n

Now I\u2019m in trouble again: grace me! hear me!<\/p>\n

2\u00a0 You rabble\u2014how long do I put up with you<\/span>r scorn?<\/p>\n

How long will you lust after lies?<\/p>\n

How long will you live crazed by illusion?<\/p>\n

3\u00a0 Look at this: look<\/p>\n

Who got picked by\u00a0God!<\/p>\n

He listens the split second I call to him.<\/p>\n

4\u20135\u00a0 Complain if you\u00a0<\/span>must, but don\u2019t lash out.<\/p>\n

Keep your mouth shut, and let your heart do the talking.<\/p>\n

Build your case before God and wait for his verdict.<\/p>\n

6\u20137\u00a0 Why is everyone hungry for\u00a0more<\/em>? \u201cMore, more,\u201d they say.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMore, more.\u201d<\/p>\n

I have God\u2019s more-than-enough,<\/span><\/p>\n

More joy in one ordinary day<\/p>\n

7\u20138\u00a0 Than they get in all their shopping sprees.<\/p>\n

At day\u2019s end I\u2019m ready for sound sleep,<\/p>\n

For you,\u00a0God, have put my life b<\/span>ack together.<\/p>\n
