This report aired just before I went on KMEG today to promote our Christmas Sing Along and Christmas Eve Worship services at First Lutheran in South Sioux City NE.
Burnout can and does happen. It matters not what sized church, solo pastor, multiple pastors, etc. What matters is expectations by members, the pastors them selves, disciple volunteers, rumors, and the list goes on.
There are so many things that can be done to help this. I myself work very hard, but I also make sure I take time now to work out, see a Spiritual Advisor, I have a Clergy Coach and multiple other support groups.
The more the congregation can do and care, the better it is for each and every pastor.
